Using Claude Code for RNA-seq Analysis (Hands-On GenAI Workshop)

Abstract

Hands-on workshop at the 28th SAPA-NE Annual Conference (AI at the Bench: From Models to Medicines) showing how coding agents can be used for RNA-seq analysis. Instead of discussing AI abstractly, attendees learned how GenAI tools can support real bioinformatics workflows including analysis, troubleshooting, scripting, and workflow acceleration. This session reflected a broader shift in the field: coding agents are becoming practical collaborators for scientists, and for many, one of the most immediate entry points into AI-enabled work.

Hands-on GenAI workshop at the 28th SAPA-NE Annual Conference

Led a hands-on workshop at the 28th SAPA-NE Annual Conference on using Claude Code for RNA-seq analysis. The session brought the conference theme (AI at the Bench: From Models to Medicines) directly into practice, showing how coding agents can be practical collaborators for real bioinformatics workflows rather than abstract tools.
